Choosing a Charging Station
The Audi Q4 e-tron 40 comes with an onboard charger capable of up to 11 kW. This means it’s recommended to use a charging station with this power output, especially if you have three-phase power at home. Charging stations with higher power won’t increase charging speed, but they won’t cause any harm either.
Electrical Installation Considerations
The Audi Q4 e-tron 40 can only utilize the maximum 11 kW when connected to a three-phase electrical connection with minimum 3 x 16A. If you don’t have this yet, you can temporarily connect the charger to a single phase. In this case, the maximum power will be limited to 3.7 kW.
Mobile Charging Devices
Mobile charging devices (portable) are a practical backup solution, especially if you don’t have a fixed charging station. Charging through a standard outlet is possible but takes significantly more time. Therefore, they are recommended mainly for emergency situations.
