Charging cables and stations
The Audi SQ8 e-tron Sportback uses a Type 2 (Mennekes) cable and supports three-phase charging up to 11 kW. You can safely use cables rated for 11 or 22 kW, as the vehicle will charge up to its maximum allowable capacity.
Compatible charging stations include:
– 3.7 kW (1 phase, 16A) – charges up to 3.7 kW
– 7.4 kW (1 phase, 32A) – also up to 3.7 kW
– 11 kW (3 phase, 16A) – fully compatible
– 22 kW (3 phase, 32A) – charges up to 11 kW
Compatibility with the electrical panel
The maximum charging efficiency depends on the availability of three-phase power at home. With a single-phase system, charging will be limited to 3.7 kW regardless of the charging station’s capacity. If you plan to switch to a three-phase installation, you can pre-install a suitable station that will temporarily operate in single-phase mode.
