Technical Data
| Plug Type | Maximum AC Power | Battery Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| Type 2 (Mennekes) | 11 kW | 49 kWh |
Charging Options and Time
| Charging Method | Voltage / Amperage | Power | Charging Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile charger (2.3 kW) | 230 V / 1×10 A | 2.3 kW | 21 h 18 min |
| Single-phase 16A | 230 V / 1×16 A | 3.7 kW | 13 h 15 min |
| Single-phase 25A | 230 V / 1×25 A | 5.8 kW | 8 h 27 min |
| Single-phase 32A | 230 V / 1×32 A | 7.4 kW | 6 h 37 min |
| Three-phase 16A (limited) | 400 V / 3×16 A | 11 kW* | 4 h 40 min |
| Three-phase 25A (limited) | 400 V / 3×25 A | 11 kW* | 4 h 40 min |
| Three-phase 32A (limited) | 400 V / 3×32 A | 22 kW* | 4 h 40 min |
*The limitation comes from the on-board charger, which supports a maximum of 10.5 kW. Charging stations with higher capacity (e.g. 22 kW) will not speed up the process but are fully compatible.
Charging Cable for Hyundai INSTER Cross
The Hyundai INSTER Cross uses a Type 2 (Mennekes) connector and supports three-phase AC charging up to 10.5 kW.
- Recommended cables: 11 kW (3×16 A) or 22 kW (3×32 A).
- Lower-capacity cables (e.g. 3.7 kW) are compatible but will limit the charging speed.
Wallbox Stations for Hyundai INSTER Cross
The maximum AC charging power is 10.5 kW. Suitable options:
- 3.7 kW (1 phase, 16 A) — charges at max. 3.7 kW
- 7.4 kW (1 phase, 32 A) — charges at max. 3.7 kW
- 11 kW (3 phases, 16 A) — charges at full 10.5 kW
- 22 kW (3 phases, 32 A) — charges at 10.5 kW (compatible, no speed increase)
Electrical Installation and Compatibility
- For full 10.5 kW charging, a three-phase installation (min. 3×16 A) is required.
- On a single-phase installation, charging is limited to 3.7 kW, regardless of station power.
- Temporary connection of a three-phase station to a single phase is possible, but power remains limited.
Mobile Charging Station
The Hyundai INSTER Cross can also be charged via a standard 230 V (Schuko) outlet using mobile chargers:
- 2.3 kW → charging time ~21 h 18 min
- 3.7 kW → charging time ~13 h 15 min
This method is mainly suitable as a backup or for emergencies, since the 49 kWh battery requires significant time for a full charge.
