Suitable Charging Cables
Hyundai IONIQ 5 63 kWh uses a Mennekes (Type 2) connector and supports 3-phase charging at 11 kW. It is necessary to use a cable compatible with 11 or 22 kW (3-phase). Heavier cables are not an issue, but lighter ones (e.g. 3.7 kW) will be insufficient.
Charging Stations (Wallbox)
The vehicle can be charged with any of the following stations:
- 3.7 kW (1-phase, 16A): max. 3.7 kW
- 7.4 kW (1-phase, 32A): max. 3.7 kW
- 11 kW (3-phase, 16A): optimal charging
- 22 kW (3-phase, 32A): charges up to 11 kW
It is recommended to use an 11 kW wallbox, especially if you already have a 3-phase installation.
Electrical Installation
If you have a 3-phase installation (min. 3x16A), you can use the full 11 kW capacity. If you currently have only 1 phase, you can temporarily connect a 3-phase station to 1 phase, but you will charge only up to 3.7 kW.
Mobile Charger (portable)
Mobile chargers (2.3 – 3.7 kW) are applicable when no other option is available.
