Charging Options and Time
The Hyundai IONIQ 5 Project 45 supports three-phase AC charging up to 11 kW. The table below shows the different charging power levels and approximate charging times:
| Charger Type | Voltage / Amperage | Power | Charging Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile charger (2.3 kW) | 230V / 1x10A | 2.3 kW | 30 h 30 min |
| Single-phase 16A | 230V / 1x16A | 3.7 kW | 18 h 55 min |
| Single-phase 25A | 230V / 1x25A | 5.8 kW | 12 h 5 min |
| Single-phase 32A | 230V / 1x32A | 7.4 kW | 9 h 30 min |
| Three-phase 16A | 400V / 3x16A | 11 kW | 6 h 25 min |
| Three-phase 25A | 400V / 3x25A | 11 kW* | 6 h 25 min |
| Three-phase 32A | 400V / 3x32A | 11 kW* | 6 h 25 min |
* Charging is limited by the vehicle’s onboard charger capacity.
Charging Cables
The car uses a Type 2 (Mennekes) connector and supports charging up to 11 kW. It is recommended to use a three-phase cable rated for 11 kW or 22 kW.
Wallbox Charging Stations
The Hyundai IONIQ 5 Project 45 supports AC charging up to 11 kW via a wallbox. Even if you use a higher-power station, the car will charge only up to its limit. Possible wallbox capacities:
- 3.7 kW (1 phase, 16A)
- 7.4 kW (1 phase, 32A)
- 11 kW (3 phases, 16A)
- 22 kW (3 phases, 32A – charging limited to 11 kW)
Connection to Electrical Network
To achieve the full charging speed, a three-phase electrical installation with at least 3x16A is required. If you currently have only a single-phase connection, you can temporarily use a three-phase station connected to one phase – in this case, charging will be limited to 3.7 kW.
Mobile Charging Stations
Mobile chargers allow charging from a standard household socket (220V). For the Hyundai IONIQ 5 Project 45, due to its high battery capacity, they are recommended mainly as a backup solution. Typical power levels: 2.3 kW and 3.7 kW.
