Charging Options and Time
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 supports three-phase AC charging up to 11 kW. Here is the approximate charging time with different types of charging stations:
| Charger Type | Voltage / Amperage | Power | Charging Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile charger (2.3 kW) | 230V / 1x10A | 2.3 kW | 32 h 15 min |
| Single-phase 16A | 230V / 1x16A | 3.7 kW | 20 h |
| Single-phase 25A | 230V / 1x25A | 5.8 kW | 12 h 45 min |
| Single-phase 32A | 230V / 1x32A | 7.4 kW | 10 h |
| Three-phase 16A | 400V / 3x16A | 11 kW | 6 h 45 min |
| Three-phase 25A | 400V / 3x25A | 11 kW* | 6 h 45 min |
| Three-phase 32A | 400V / 3x32A | 11 kW* | 6 h 45 min |

Charging Cables
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 uses a Type 2 (Mennekes) plug and supports three-phase charging up to 11 kW. Suitable cables are 11 or 22 kW, as long as they are designed for three-phase charging.
Wallbox Charging Stations
The maximum AC charging power for the Hyundai IONIQ 6 is 11 kW. Even if you use a higher-capacity station (e.g. 22 kW), the car will still charge at up to 11 kW. Example options:
- 3.7 kW (1 phase, 16A)
- 7.4 kW (1 phase, 32A)
- 11 kW (3 phases, 16A)
- 22 kW (3 phases, 32A – charging limited to 11 kW)
Electrical Installation
To benefit from the full 11 kW, a three-phase connection (3x16A) is required. If you have a single-phase network, you can connect a three-phase station to one phase, but charging will be limited to 3.7 kW.
Mobile Charging Stations
Mobile chargers allow practical home charging, although they are more suitable as a supplementary or backup solution.
