Basic Technical Data
| Plug Type | Max. Charging Power (AC) | Battery Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| Type 2 (Mennekes) | 6.6 kW | 28 kWh |
Charging Time by Station Type
The charger you use determines the charging time. Below are example values:
| Charging Type | Power | Charging Time |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile charger (2.3 kW) | 2.3 kW | 14 h 30 min |
| Single-phase 16A (3.7 kW) | 3.7 kW | 9 h |
| Single-phase 25A (5.8 kW) | 5.8 kW | 5 h 45 min |
| Single-phase 32A (7.4 kW) | 6.6 kW* | 5 h |
| Three-phase 16A (11 kW) | 3.7 kW* | 9 h |
| Three-phase 25A (17 kW) | 5.8 kW* | 5 h 45 min |
| Three-phase 32A (22 kW) | 6.6 kW* | 5 h |

Charging Cables for Hyundai IONIQ Electric (16–19)
This model uses a Mennekes (Type 2) connector and supports charging with a maximum power of 6.6 kW. A cable of at least 7.4 kW is required. 3.7 kW cables will not be sufficient.
Wallbox Charging Stations
Charging with a wallbox is a convenient and safe way to charge at home. Possible power ratings:
- 3.7 kW (1 phase, 16A): max. 3.7 kW
- 7.4 kW (1 phase, 32A): max. 6.6 kW
- 11 kW (3 phases, 16A): max. 3.7 kW
- 22 kW (3 phases, 32A): max. 6.6 kW
If you have a three-phase supply, make sure it allows charging at 6.6 kW on a single phase. If needed, look for a wallbox with static or dynamic load balancing.
Mobile Charging Stations
Mobile chargers (portable EV chargers) can be used with a standard socket (220V). They are usually rated at 2.3 kW or 3.7 kW. For this vehicle, they are recommended only as a backup option or in emergencies, as the charging time is longer.
