Wallbox Stations for Hyundai IONIQ
All Hyundai IONIQ models support a maximum AC charging power of up to 11 kW. The most common charging station power levels are:
- 3.7 kW (1-phase, 16A)
- 7.4 kW (1-phase, 32A)
- 11 kW (3-phase, 16A)
- 22 kW (3-phase, 32A)
Even if you use a station with higher power, the car will charge only up to its 11 kW limit.
Types of Wallbox Stations
You can choose between:
- Fixed cable station – convenient for daily charging
- Socket (without cable) – suitable for shared stations and different vehicles
Electrical Installation and Switchboard
When selecting a charging station, it is important to consider the electrical switchboard:
- With 1-phase installation – charging is usually limited to ~4 kW
- With 3-phase installation – it can reach up to 22 kW
It is recommended to use an 11 kW station if a 3-phase connection is available. This is a future-proof solution, suitable for almost all modern electric vehicles.
Mobile Charging Station for Hyundai IONIQ
Mobile chargers allow charging from a standard household socket (220V). They usually charge at 2.3 or 3.7 kW (10 or 16A). This type of charging is slower but convenient as a backup or for emergencies. Extra caution is advised when using a 16A mobile charger – do not overload the electrical system.
Charging Cable for Hyundai IONIQ
All IONIQ models use a Mennekes (Type 2) connector.
