Charging Cable
The Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid uses a Type 1 (Yazaki) connector, so it is compatible with Type 1 cables. The car supports single-phase charging with a maximum power of 3.3 kW. Both single-phase and three-phase cables can be used, but at least 3.7 kW is recommended.
Wallbox Charging Stations
It is recommended to use a wallbox if you want more convenient and safer charging at home. Suitable options are wallboxes with 3.7 kW, 7.4 kW, 11 kW, or 22 kW power. However, charging will be limited to a maximum of 3.3 kW, as this is the vehicle’s technical limit. If you plan to purchase a fully electric car in the future, it is wise to invest in an 11 kW wallbox with a socket (non-fixed cable) to ensure compatibility with Type 2 models as well.
Connection to Electrical Panel
Almost every standard household electrical panel supports up to 16A (3.7 kW), whether single-phase or three-phase. If you have a three-phase panel, it makes sense to choose a higher-class wallbox, considering future compatibility with higher-powered EVs.
Mobile Charging Stations
Mobile wallboxes are a practical and economical solution for charging through a regular household socket. For the Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid this is fully sufficient, since the battery capacity is not large. We recommend a mobile charger with 2.3 kW or 3.7 kW. However, care must be taken with the total load.
