Charging Cable for Mercedes-Benz eVito Tourer
The Mercedes-Benz eVito Tourer uses a Type 2 (Mennekes) connector and 3-phase charging with power up to 11 kW. For optimal charging, a 3-phase cable rated at least 11 kW is required. 22 kW cables are also compatible but won’t increase the charging speed.
Wallbox Stations for Mercedes-Benz eVito Tourer
The maximum charging power for the eVito Tourer is 11 kW. Suitable wallbox stations include:
– 3.7 kW (1 phase, 16A): charges at 3.7 kW
– 7.4 kW (1 phase, 32A): charges at maximum 3.7 kW
– 11 kW (3 phase, 16A): charges at 11 kW
– 22 kW (3 phase, 32A): charges at 11 kW
*Higher power ratings won’t result in faster charging – the car charges according to its own limits.
Installation and Compatibility
Choosing a suitable wallbox station also depends on your electrical installation. If you have a 3-phase network with minimum 3x16A, you can use the vehicle’s full charging capacity. If you don’t have such an installation yet, you can purchase a 3-phase station and temporarily connect it to 1 phase. With single-phase power, the maximum charging power will be 3.7 kW, regardless of the wallbox.
Portable Charging Station
Portable EV chargers allow charging through a standard outlet (220V). The eVito Tourer requires a mobile wallbox with a Type 2 plug. Charging is typically at 2.3 or 3.7 kW. Due to the large battery capacity (100 kWh), this method is mainly suitable as a backup option.
