Charging Cable for Mercedes-Benz eVito
The Mercedes-Benz eVito uses a Type 2 (Mennekes) connector with single-phase charging up to 7.4 kW. It is recommended to use a cable that supports at least 7.4 kW. Both single-phase and three-phase cables can be used – the heavier one won’t speed up charging, but it’s not a problem either.
Wallbox Stations for Mercedes-Benz eVito
The maximum charging power of the eVito is 7.4 kW. Suitable wallbox stations include:
– 3.7 kW (1 phase, 16A): charges at 3.7 kW
– 7.4 kW (1 phase, 32A): charges at 7.4 kW
– 11 kW (3 phase, 16A): charges at maximum 3.7 kW*
– 22 kW (3 phase, 32A): charges at maximum 7.4 kW*
*Speed is limited by the vehicle’s specifications.
Electrical Installation and Compatibility
The choice of wallbox depends on whether you have a single-phase or three-phase installation at home or workplace. If using a three-phase network, ensure that 7.4 kW can be delivered on a single phase – this is often not possible without additional load balancing. A station with manual or dynamic load balancing is recommended.
Portable Charging Station
Mobile wallbox devices allow charging through a standard household outlet (220V). For the Mercedes-Benz eVito, a mobile wallbox with a Type 2 connector is required. Although slower, this charging method may be sufficient in some situations. It is recommended primarily as a backup or temporary option, given the higher capacity battery of the eVito.
