Charging Options and Time
Depending on whether you have a mobile charger or a wallbox available, the charging time will vary. Here are approximate values for different configurations:
| Charging Station Type | Electrical configuration | Power | Charging Time |
| Mobile charging station (2.3 kW) | 230V / 1x10A | 2.3 kW | 19 h. 35 min. |
| Single-phase 16A (3.7 kW) | 230V / 1x16A | 3.7 kW | 12 h. 10 min. |
| Single-phase 25A (5.8 kW) | 230V / 1x25A | 5.8 kW | 7 hrs 45 min |
| Single-phase 32A (7.4 kW) | 230V / 1x29A | 7.2 kW | 6 h 15 min |
| Three-phase 16A (11 kW) | 230V / 1x16A | 3.7 kW* | 12 h. 10 min. |
| Three-phase 25A (17 kW) | 230V / 1x25A | 5.8 kW* | 7 hrs 45 min |
| Three-phase 32A (22 kW) | 230V / 1x29A | 7.2 kW* | 6 h 15 min |
*Charging power is limited by the vehicle’s capabilities.
Wallbox stations for Volkswagen ID.3 Pure Performance
The vehicle supports a maximum charging power of 7.2 kW, which can be achieved with a 7.4 kW wallbox (1 phase, 32A). Using more powerful stations (e.g. 22 kW) is also possible, but the charging speed will remain at 7.2 kW. It is important to check whether your electrical installation can handle such a load on a single phase.
Mobile Charging Stations
The Volkswagen ID.3 Pure Performance can be charged with a mobile station using a standard household socket. The most commonly used mobile stations provide between 2.3 kW and 3.7 kW, which is suitable for occasional or backup charging.
Charging cables for Volkswagen ID.3 Pure Performance
The vehicle uses a Type 2 (Mennekes) cable and supports single-phase charging up to 7.2 kW. It is recommended to use a cable with at least 7.4 kW capacity. Cables with lower power, such as 3.7 kW, are not suitable for full charging performance.
