Wallbox Stations for the Volkswagen ID.3 Pure
The maximum charging power of the ID.3 Pure is 7.2 kW. This means that even if you use a more powerful charging station, the charging will be limited by the vehicle. For optimal charging, it is recommended to use a 7.4 kW wallbox (single-phase, 32A). If you only have a single-phase installation, make sure it can handle this load, and it is advisable for the wallbox to feature dynamic or manual load management.
Mobile Charging Stations
Mobile chargers are a convenient way to charge from a standard household socket. For the ID.3 Pure, a Type 2 mobile station is required. These typically support 2.3 or 3.7 kW, which is mainly suitable as a backup or temporary option due to the 52 kWh battery capacity.
Charging Cables for the Volkswagen ID.3 Pure
The car uses a Type 2 plug and supports single-phase charging up to 7.2 kW. You can use either single-phase or three-phase cables. However, it is recommended to use a cable rated for at least 7.4 kW — a 3.7 kW cable will not be sufficient.
