Wallbox stations for Volkswagen ID.4 GTX
The maximum charging power for AC charging in the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX is 11 kW. Even if you use a more powerful wallbox station (e.g. 22 kW), the car will charge at a maximum of 11 kW. For optimal efficiency, a 3-phase wallbox station of at least 11 kW is recommended. When using a lower-power wallbox, the charging time will increase significantly.
Mobile Charging Stations
The Volkswagen ID.4 GTX can also be charged using a mobile charging station connected to a standard socket. These stations usually provide between 2.3 and 3.7 kW of power and are mainly suitable for backup situations or when access to a wallbox is limited.
Charging cables for Volkswagen ID.4 GTX
The vehicle uses a Type 2 (Mennekes) plug and supports three-phase charging up to 11 kW. It is recommended to use a cable rated for at least 11 or 22 kW to ensure full compatibility with the car’s capacity and the available charging station.
