Charging Cables for Volkswagen ID.4 Pure
The Volkswagen ID.4 Pure uses a Mennekes (Type 2) connector. The car has a single-phase charging capacity of up to 7.2 kW. For optimal charging, a cable of at least 7.4 kW is required. A lower-capacity cable, such as 3.7 kW, would be insufficient.
Charging Station (Wallbox) for Volkswagen ID.4 Pure
The maximum charging power for the Volkswagen ID.4 Pure is 7.2 kW, with a usable battery capacity of 52 kWh. Charging via a wallbox is recommended, as it provides faster and more efficient charging. It’s important to know that a more powerful station will not exceed the vehicle’s limit, but installing one is not an issue. With a lower-capacity station, charging will take longer.
Available Wallbox options:
3.7 kW (1 phase, 16A) → max. 3.7 kW
– 7.4 kW (1 phase, 32A) → max. 7.2 kW
– 11 kW (3 phase, 16A) → max. 3.7 kW
– 22 kW (3 phase, 32A) → max. 7.2 kW 7.2 kW
Mobile Charger for Volkswagen ID.4 Pure
With a mobile charger (portable EV charger), you can charge the car from a standard household socket. For the Volkswagen ID.4 Pure, a Type 2 mobile wallbox is required. This solution is slower and better suited as a backup option or for emergency situations. Mobile chargers typically operate at 2.3 or 3.7 kW, which means charging will take considerably longer.
