Charging cables and wallbox stations
Volkswagen ID. Buzz LWB GTX / LWB Pro uses a Mennekes (Type 2) plug and supports three-phase charging up to 11 kW. It is recommended to use a cable rated for 11 or 22 kW, even though the car will charge at a maximum of 11 kW.
Compatible wallbox stations:
– 3.7 kW (1 phase, 16A)
– 7.4 kW (1 phase, 32A)
– 11 kW (3 phases, 16A)
– 22 kW (3 phases, 32A) – charges up to 11 kW
Compatibility with the electrical installation
To charge at the full power of 11 kW, your electrical installation must support three-phase power (at least 3x16A). If you do not yet have such an installation, you can temporarily use a wallbox connected to a single phase.
Portable Charging Station
The mobile station (or portable charger) allows charging from a standard socket (220V). For the Volkswagen ID. Buzz LWB GTX / LWB Pro, a Type 2 mobile cable is required. Due to the high battery capacity (86 kWh), the portable charger is mainly suitable as a backup option.
