EV Charging Cable
The vehicle uses a Type 2 (Mennekes) connector and supports three-phase charging at 11 kW. The most suitable cable is a three-phase cable rated for 11 or 22 kW.
Home Charging Station (Wallbox)
An 11 kW wallbox is recommended. Chargers with higher power (such as 22 kW) will not speed up charging but are also compatible. If the electrical installation does not support higher power, a 3.7 or 7.4 kW station can also be used.
Connection to the Electrical Panel
Volkswagen ID. Buzz NWB Pro / NWB GTX can be charged with three-phase power. If only single-phase power is available at home, the maximum charging speed will be limited to 3.7 kW. In this case, you can install a three-phase station and temporarily connect it in single-phase mode.
Portable Charging Station
Mobile chargers (or portable wallboxes) are suitable as a backup option. They plug into a standard socket and typically provide between 2.3 and 3.7 kW of power. Due to the larger battery capacity, this type of charging is slow but useful in emergency situations.
