Charging Cable Tips
The Volvo EX90 Single Motor uses a 3-phase Type 2 (Mennekes) charging cable with capacity up to 11 kW. A 22 kW cable can also be used, but the car will charge at a maximum of 11 kW.
Wallbox Recommendations
A Wallbox with 3-phase connection and power of at least 11 kW is recommended. Even if you use a station with higher power (e.g., 22 kW), it will be limited to 11 kW according to the vehicle’s capacity.
Electrical Panel
The best choice also depends on your electrical installation (1 or 3 phases). The Volvo EX90 Single Motor supports 3-phase charging. If you don’t have such an installation yet, you can temporarily use just 1 phase.
Portable Charging Station
You can charge the Volvo EX90 Single Motor through a regular home outlet. A mobile charging station is a practical solution for emergency or backup charging. Charging is slower – 2.3 or 3.7 kW – but may be completely sufficient for some users.
